2019 Barclays Jersey Boat Show
Exhibitor and Caterer Applications are now OPEN for the 2019 Barclays Jersey Boat Show!
Exhibitors and caterers wishing to be a part of the next annual Barclays Jersey Boat Show are being encouraged to apply NOW in order to take advantage of an ‘Early Bird’ discount.
Frequently referred to (and rightly so!) as the “largest free-entry event in the Channel Islands”, the 12th annual Barclays Jersey Boat Show will take place over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend of Saturday 04 to Monday 06 May 2019.
Taking place in and around the award-winning St Helier Marina and adjacent Weighbridge Place, the show is organised by Ports of Jersey with the operational support of local specialists 3D Events. First staged in 2008 as an opportunity to showcase Jersey’s marine leisure industry to a wider audience, the event continues to grow in terms of size and reputation, consistently attracting in excess of 30,000+ visitors over the three days. While the show’s remit remains firmly on showcasing the local industry it is its reflection of its popularity among traders and the public that now sees it include leisure and lifestyle products and activities, opening itself to a wider audience and creating a genuine community focused event. The show remains entirely self-funded by Ports of Jersey with no public investment or government grant given. Commercial sponsorship and exhibitor fees allow organisers to stage the event and retain its free entry policy.
In 2019, title sponsors Barclays will be celebrating its 10th anniversary supporting the Jersey Boat Show year and over the years it has raised over £80,000 for its nominated charities. With such a special anniversary to look forward to the theme of the 2019 show will be ‘celebration’
For the 2019 show, we will be working with local not for profit group, Plastic Free Jersey with the aim of working towards a sustainable event. The maritime industry is at the heart of the environmental movement and must endeavour to protect our oceans for future generations to enjoy. All exhibitors will receive a stallholder guide, which will provide guidance and advice on how to actively reduce waste, particularly non-recyclable waste.
There is increasing expectation not just in the maritime industry, but that all industries should be working towards this same goal. We have an expectation that our exhibitors will help us work towards making this a ‘green’ event – this means that more and more environmental considerations must be made with regards to all aspects of the event, including displays, entertainment, activities, general facilities and services such as waste management.
Your participation in this event is based on an agreement to participate in a ‘green event’.
