Our Story
13 years and counting
The inaugural Jersey Boat Show was staged in spring 2008. First described as “an opportunity to showcase Jersey’s marine leisure industry to a wider audience” over the years the event has grown in size, both in terms of size and reputation, to become the “largest free-entry event in the Channel Islands”.
Myra Shacklady, who was responsible for the overall staging and promotion of the show at its conception in 2007 recalls, “Little did we realise all those years ago when the idea for putting together such an event was first suggested that 13 years on it would continue to have grown in the way that it has. We first staged it with just a small number of exhibitors and a reduced entertainment programme; whereas nowadays, we have a great team working behind the scenes to deliver yet again another maritime celebration that attracts in excess of 100 participants and boasts an extensive entertainment programme both on and off the water.
All marketing, PR and media activities are handled by Ports of Jersey's dedicated in-house team while event specialists 3D Events look after the operational aspects of the show together with all exhibitor, catering / refreshment concessions, entertainment programme and sponsorship opportunities.
