The 2023 Barclays Jersey Boat Show is now taking shape as the event draws near. It is being held over three days at the St Helier Marina and Weighbridge Place from Saturday 29 April to Monday 1 May 2023 (Bank Holiday).
The Show will feature the full range of the Island’s maritime community, ranging from paddleboards and kayaks to luxury yachts and motor cruisers – as well as all the gadgets and services that enhance life in, on, or around the water.
The Royal Navy has always played an integral role in Jersey’s Boat Show since it was first launched in 2008 and is attending again this year. They will be in the Military Village with their Mobile Outreach Vehicle, Royal Marine Commando Recruit Troop with the Weapons Dome and the Beaverfit gym. On the water, the Royal Navy’s HMS Hurworth, a Hunt Class Mine Counter Measure Vessel, will be berthed alongside Victoria Pier. You can book tickets online for HMS Hurworth
One of the highlights is the Götheborg of Sweden, the world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, which will be visiting Jersey for the first time. Visitors to the show will be able to go on board between 10am and 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children (under-fives go free).
There will be displays and demonstrations for those who enjoy being active on the water in Geomarine’s Outdoor & Active Zone, as well as stalls along Albert Pier. There will also be trips on the water, organised by Le Mourier and Jersey Duchess.
Weighbridge Place will be home to a new entertainment village this year. The Solent Stevedores Main Stage will host local talent in a packed entertainment programme, and the Kids’ Zone will be in Weighbridge Place. A selection of food and drink stalls will be on offer nearby.
Jersey’s Harbourmaster, Captain Bill Sadler, said: “This year’s event is shaping up to be a great day out for Islanders. It will inspire people interested in maritime matters, and provide everyone with musical entertainment, catering stalls, and a chance to look around a variety of vessels.
“We’re delighted that Barclays is continuing to sponsor this Show, alongside our other sponsors, marine traders, exhibitors, and participants.”
