HMS Tyne leads Royal Navy presence at 2026 Barclays Jersey Boat Show

The 2026 Barclays Jersey Boat Show will welcome a major Royal Navy presence, led by the formidable HMS Tyne, as the Island’s largest free outdoor event returns to St Helier Marina from 2 – 4 May.

The show will once again celebrate Jersey’s vibrant maritime culture, combining world-class boats, family entertainment, food and drink, live music and thrilling on-water experiences.

HMS Tyne plays a vital role in safeguarding UK waters, supporting search and rescue operations, protecting fisheries and maintaining maritime security. Her appearance at the Jersey Boat Show will give visitors a rare opportunity to enjoy a tour of this 80m, 1,700 tonne vessel, meet her crew and gain insight into the Navy’s day-to-day operations at sea.

Captain William Sadler, Jersey Harbour Master, said: “We’re proud and excited to welcome HMS Tyne to this year’s show, strengthening an already impressive Royal Navy presence. The Barclays Jersey Boat Show continues to showcase everything that makes our harbour and Island special, offering visitors a unique opportunity to connect with the maritime community while enjoying a fantastic programme of activity and entertainment both on and off the water.”

Due to popularity, visits to HMS Tyne are free but are limited and can be pre-booked via Eventbrite. She will be joined by a range of other Royal Navy assets including HMS Express, an Archer class patrol vessel, two Viking armoured All-Terrain Vehicles, dive tank and a food catering facility.

“I am delighted that HMS Tyne will be visiting St Helier as the Royal Navy Guardship for this year’s Jersey Boat Show,” said Lt Cdr Samual Fields.

“We look forward to engaging with members of the public and exhibitors, showcasing the ship’s role in protecting the UK’s maritime interests and demonstrating the professionalism of our Royal Navy personnel.”

The 2026 show promises a packed programme of entertainment and experiences for all ages, including:

  • The Party Crew Kids’ Zone, for the biggest and best set up of bouncy castles and fun activities offering interactive activities and hands-on fun for younger visitors.
